Getting to Caen

The EGRAPA 2026 congress will be held at the Health Education and Research Center (PFRS), located on the Campus 5 of the University of Caen Normandy:

✈️ By Plane

Option 1 – Paris Airports (Most International Travelers)

Most international participants will arrive via Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Paris Orly (ORY) airports. From there, Caen can be reached by:

• Train: see section 🚆 By Train for detailed instructions.
• Car: about 2.5 hours' drive
• FlixBus or BlaBlaCar Bus: low-cost direct buses available.

Both airports are well-connected to Gare Saint-Lazare by public transport (RER B + Metro 14) or by taxi/Uber.

Option 2 – Caen–Carpiquet Airport (CFR)

This regional airport is located just 9 km west of Caen. It offers a limited number of direct flights.  Flights and info: www.caen.aeroport.fr

To reach Caen city center from the airport: Twisto Bus Line 3 connects the airport to the city (~20 minutes). Taxi or Uber options are also available and take about 15 minutes.

🚆 By Train

• From Paris: Take a direct train from Gare Saint-Lazare to Caen (~2 hours).

• Transfer from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Gare Saint-Lazare:

• • Follow signs to RER B at the airport
  • Take the RER B to Châtelet–Les Halles
  • Transfer to Metro Line 14 (direction Mairie de Saint-Ouen) and get off at Saint-Lazare
  • ⏱️ Total travel time: ~65 minutes

• Alternatively, you can take a taxi, Uber, or other ride-hailing services from the airport to Gare Saint-Lazare (around 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic).

🚌 By Long-Distance Bus

• FlixBus and BlaBlaCar Bus operate direct routes to Caen from Paris and other major cities in France and Europe.
  🚌 This is often a low-cost option : www.flixbus.com, www.blablacar.fr/bus

• In Caen, most buses arrive at the Caen Bus Station (Gare routière), just next to the Caen train station and connected to Tramway line T2.

🚗 By Car

• From Paris: Approx. 2.5 hours via the A13 motorway.
• From Charles de Gaulle Airport: Take the A1 > A86 > A13 toward Caen.
• The PFRS is accessible by car and Tramway T2.

🚗 By Carpooling (BlaBlaCar)

• You can also reach Caen by rideshare with BlaBlaCar. It's affordable, ecological, and widely used in France.

🛳️ By Ferry (from the UK)

• The closest ferry terminal is Ouistreham–Portsmouth (20 minutes from Caen). Bookings: www.brittanyferries.fr
